Thanksgiving in New Mexico

We had a very nice Thanksgiving this year. We usually are off flying somewhere fighting crowds at the airport for two of the four days off. This year we stayed home for the whole break and just relaxed. We didn't even have to cook food! A very nice family in our ward invited us to their home for turkey dinner. It was all home cooked and excellent! I mean really yummy! Many people in our ward have horses. This family had a barn with four horses, two dogs, and two chickens. One of their horses (sorry forgot to take a picture) is a tall black show horse that last year one an award for the top show horse in the world...yes world. This year it was second (voting was split 3-2). This horse pictured was one of their other horses and it really likes people. If you go anywhere near it it will reach down and smell and nibble on your shirt. I have not spent much time around horses so it is very fun for me. Lincoln would go up close then the horse would reach down and sniff his hair and he would run off giggling. It was really fun.
We sent Lincoln on a chicken egg hunt in the hay and he found this one. He was so happy and proud of himself. We took it home and ate it the next morning.
Here is Lincoln just before the horse reached down to smell him. Lincoln would always run away laughing then come back for more.

We have lived in different cities in different states over the past five years and it still amazes me that no matter where we live we will always find great people who are willing to open their home to basically strangers. I love that aspect of the LDS church, no matter where you live in the world you will be a part of a local ward group with people that will do things for you and love you as if they have known you their whole life. We have only been here for four months and already we have so many great friends of all ages that will be our friends forever. We have much to be grateful for.

Leslie loves these two pictures and has been asking me to put them on the blog for a month so she can look at them more often. This little girl is growing up fast!

Sports Update

Lincoln plays sports everyday so today I finally fixed my camera so I took some shots of him. You can tell what I think is important and what Leslie thinks is important. My mom asked me what she could get the kids for Christmas and I told her we really didn’t need anything. Then I told her Lincoln always needs new balls to play with, like golf balls, football, soccer ball. Then I told Leslie about my moms comments and Leslie said “Oh we should have her pick out some good new books or some learning toys, she always picks out such good stuff and Lincoln could always use more books.”  I immediately thought “He already has so many books” and when I told Leslie what I told my Mom she said “Are you serious? He has enough balls.” Looks like we are a good team. Anyway here are a few shots of Lincoln playing sports.

Lincoln Golfing

We went to the driving range and Lincoln sure can hit with his driver. Here are a few pictures of Lincoln putting. Leslie and Claire loved to sit on the grass and watch. We may have to go to the golf course on all Saturday's when the weather is decent.

Halloween

Buzz Lightyear with Mommy and Claire.....We didn't get a costume for Claire.
He must have just landed from a flight around the house....Nice landing!
My Aunt Renee and Lincoln preparing for battle.

We had a nice Halloween. We have a tradition with Lincoln that we spend halloween visiting a few families of either widows or empty nesters, they seem to really appreciate cute little kids. We visited a few homes in our neighborhood and it turns out we were the first trick or treaters in the last seven years. They were surprised to see us and unprepared so no treats for Lincoln....which is actually okay if you know Leslie's stand on Lincoln's diet. We spent the rest of the night at the early voting center getting our votes in.....go Mavericks. Lincoln was the only one dressed up in the 45 minute line. We had a great halloween.
